Airmail cover from Paris to Palaio Psychiko, Athens, franked with a pair of 45-centime “Incroyables et Merveilleuses” commemoratives. The stamps and illustrated first-day cachet were cancelled in Paris on their first day of issue, 7 October 1972. Their combined 90-centime value paid the contemporary letter rate to Greece, including airmail transmission. Multiple Athens arrival cancellations dated 9–10 October appear on the reverse, confirming rapid two-day carriage. An attractive example of a first-day cover genuinely used for international correspondence rather than retained solely as a philatelic souvenir.
