Picture postcard mailed from Dubai on 17 September 1979 to Athens. It is franked with 15- and 50-fils United Arab Emirates definitive stamps bearing the federal emblem, making a total of 65 fils for the international postcard service. The illustrated side depicts a camel handler and animals, while the heading “Camels in U.A.E.” appears in Arabic and English. The personal message is written in Finnish, creating an unusual combination of Emirati origin, Finnish-language correspondence and Greek destination—an attractive example of Dubai’s increasingly international character during the late 1970s.
