Express airmail letter sent from Barcelona on 20 October 1968 to Spiros Contopoulos, Athens. The 32-peseta mixed franking comprises a 2-peseta General Franco definitive and two 15-peseta stamps depicting the sculptor Ventura Rodríguez. A prominent red URGENTE label and blue VIA AEREA handstamp identify the supplementary services requested. The stamps were cancelled by a Barcelona machine marking advertising the permanent telephone-telegram service. An Athens arrival mark dated 21 October records next-day delivery, demonstrating the speed of European express airmail transmission
