Posted on 20 April 1967, the day before the Colonels’ military coup, it bears 1.50-, 2.50- and 4.50-drachma values of the royal-couple issue, depicting King Constantine II and Queen Anne-Marie.
The combined 8.50-drachma franking paid the contemporary foreign-letter rate. The date and royal portrait franking give the cover particular social-historical interest as correspondence from the final day of Greece’s pre-coup constitutional order.
