2 May 1968 domestic letter from Mavrata, Kefalonia posted at nearby Skala and addressed to Athens. The single 2.50-drachma stamp paid the domestic letter rate. Issued following the military coup of 21 April 1967, its design combines a soldier with the phoenix rising from flames—the regime’s principal propaganda emblem. The stamp is tied by a Skala datestamp, while an Athens receiving mark records arrival and distribution in the capital.
