The contemporary foreign-letter rate was 2.50 drachmas, leaving a deficiency of 20 lepta. The Greek post office applied the large “T” marking and indicated 0.10 gold franc, the UPU minimum deficiency charge. On arrival, the German postal service added the boxed red “Nachgebühr” handstamp and blue-crayon accounting marks for collection from the recipient.
