Domestic letter posted at Thessaloniki in February 1927 and addressed to
Dimitrios Metaxas, 1 Dragatsaniou Street, Athens. The mixed franking of
one 1-drachma blue definitive and two 20-lepta Iris stamps totals 1.40
drachmas, correctly paying the ordinary interurban letter rate introduced on 1
December 1926. The stamps are tied by a barred circular datestamp of THESSALONIKI.
A faint ATHENS machine receiving mark, dated 15 February 1927 and
accompanied by continuous wavy-line killers, records processing at the
destination office. Its mirror-image impression is visible through the reverse
of the envelope.
