Italian folded letter sent from Messina, Sicily, to Piraeus, Greece, in September 1878. The front bears a blue 20 centesimi Italian postage stamp, cancelled with a clear circular “MESSINA – 4 SET 78” postmark. The handwritten destination “Pireo” is clearly visible, while the recipient’s name is difficult to read with certainty. An additional circular transit or arrival postmark appears on the upper folded section.
Only half of the envelope is present.
