NOTE
CARE, an acronym for Cooperative for American Remittances to Europe, which was modified in 1953 to Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere, was established on 27.11.1945, initially as a provisional cooperative of 22 political, religious, agricultural cooperatives and American workers’ philanthropic organizations. Its target was to send food to European populations which were starving after the end of the WWII. (Philotelia, 714, January - February 2019, “The humanitarian mission CARE”, by Nikos Mallouchos)
