Censored upon departure with an Italian circled fractional censor marking ‘4/GRE’, 2-circled handstamp ‘CENSURA POSTALE * ATENE’ (faint on the back) and resealing tape texted ‘VERIFICATO PER CENSURA’ after examining contents.
On arrival was censored anew by Germans in Austria (under Nazis’ occupation) who
placed a new resealing tape of ‘Geoffnet - O.K.W.’ [Gepruft - Obbercommando der Wehrmacht].
Under Adolf Hitler, "Großdeutschland" was used to signify the vision of a greater German Reich that encompassed all territories with ethnic Germans or German speakers.
