Entire folded letter written in Greek with dateline "τη 15: Ιουλλίου 1841, θεσσαλονίκη" (Salonica, Turkey), given to a ship to be sent to ΣΥΡΑ 25.ΙΟΥΛΙ.1841 (Syros), with oval entry marking ΥΠΕΡΘΑΛΑΣΣΙΑ (from the sea). Disinfected at Syra, bearing the ΥΓΕΙΟΝΟΜΕΙΟΝ ΣΥΡΑΣ handstamp (Sanitary Office of Syra, with coat of arms). Handwritten to pay tax “10" lepta, ex Zaphiriou collection, RR & VF+
