Double-ring violet cachet texted ‘ΛΟΓΟΚΡΙΣΙΑ ΠΑΤΡΩΝ’ [Patras Censorship] in belt on cover to Αthens, franked with 3dr regular ’Head of King George II’ (Historical set, 1937 - taken away by the censor) plus 50lepta Social Providence (heads of Queens Olga and Sophia, 1937-39) adhesives. Cover also bears difficult to find type V ‘ΤΣΟΥΚΑΛΕΪΚΑ’ postmark.
Opened at bottom horizontal edge and examined by censor; resealed with flesh plain tape printed ‘ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΛΟΓΟΚΡΙΣΙΑ’ [Hellenic Censored] (rear side).
Sender’s enclosed letter dated ’24 October 1940’, written at Tsoukalaiika former settlement.
Backstamped on arrival at final destination with ‘AΘΗΝΑΙ 28.XΙ.40 ΑΦΙΞΙΣ’
[Athens, Arrival 28 November 1940] 10-line wavy postal marking. Condition: very good.
