1940.08.?: Corner cover franked with 8δρχ King George II & 1δρχ Charity (Queens), tied with slogan machine postmark ΑΘΗΝΑΙ ?.VIII.40 ΕΜΠΡΟΣ ΔΙΑ ΤΗΝ 2αν ΤΕΤΡΑΕΤΙΑΝ, addressed to Paris (France). Examined by the Exchange Control, with black circular ΠΕΝ (Προστασία Εθνικού Νομίσματος), the cover was forwarded to Germany and censored, with red "Oberkommando der Wermacht / Gepruft". Due to the Occupation of France, the letter was returned to Greece, bearing two red straight-line markings RETOUR A L'ENVOYEUR (in capitals, Returned to Sender) and INADMIS (not allowed, two strikes), RR & VF
