Note 1. On March 23, 1983, the President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, officially announces the grand plan that will go down in history as "Star Wars". The plan envisioned a series of long-term research and development programs for weapons systems, with the ultimate goal of eliminating the threat of being hit by strategic nuclear missiles

Note 2. Grigoris Lambrakis was an independent left-wing member of parliament in Greece and a prominent peace activist. He was a member of the Greek resistance during WWII, a successful athlete and studied medicine. Grigoris Lambrakis was murdered at a peace demonstration in Thessalonki on May 22nd 1963.
