Triptych Philatelic document, franked with 3 stamps “série des / GRANDS NOMS DE L’ ISTOIRE DE FRANCE”, (Yvert 1577 - 1579 / Michel 1604 -1606), each stamp cancelled to order (16 NOV. 68), with different pictorial commemorative cachet, depicting PHILIPPE LE BEL, DU GUESCLIN and JEANNE D’ ARC, respectively, also relative original engravings (gravures en taille-douce), created by the engraver of the stamps, the famous French artist Albert Decaris. In numerical limited edition (2000), this item has the number 729. Nice thematic philatelic document.
Albert Marius Hippolyte Decaris, born May 6, 1901 in Sotteville-lès-Rouen (Seine-Inférieure) and died January 1, 1988 in Paris, is a painter, decorator and engraver French. Burinist renowned for his virtuosity, he also worked in watercolor and ink wash, often to prepare his engravings, and engraved many stamps.
