[USS McCormick (DD-223) destroyer operated in eastern Mediterranean and Greece until the spring of 1924. She served there almost under diplomatic capacity during the negotiations for the peace treaty between the Allies and Turkey, finally signed at Lausanne on 24 July 1923, officially ending the war between the Allies and Turkey (it came into force on 6 August 1924)].
