USA 1938 Cover franked with a single 5c stamp tied by machine cancel (probably Peabody Mass.) and mailed to Mytilene, Greece via Athens (ΑΘΗΝΑΙ 26 Ι 38 machine cancel on the back). Cover was opened and inspected, then sealed with CONTROLE DU CHANGE ΕΛΕΓΧΟΣ ΣΥΝΑΛΛΑΓΜΑΤΟΣ tape tied by large violet ΥΠΗΡΕΣΙΑ ΠΡΟΣΤΑΣΙΑΣ ΕΘΝΙΚΟΥ ΝΟΜΙΣΜΑΤΟΣ - ΜΥΤΙΛΗΝΗΣ - on both sides. On the front there is a straightline handstamp of the censor's name. Vertical crease, still a scarce and useful item.
