GREECE 1918 5L Military Correspondence Postal Stationery Card used by a civilian, uprated with a 2L litho and a 3L ET & Crown stamp, tied by ΚΑΛΑΜΑΙ 23 ΙΟΥΝ. 18 sent to Syros Island - ΣΥΡΟΣ 5 ΙΟΥΛ. 18 (ΑΦΙΞΙΣ) arrival on the back. Card has two postal censor marks, on the front a weak strike of the (British) PASSED AEGEAN POSTAL CENSOR SYRA with Lion's Head on top (also known as "tombstone" mark) and inspector's manuscript initials, and an M.A.15 in triangle on the back. Very fine and interesting item, with the message requesting price information regarding fishing hooks.
