Special illustrated card (43x15 cm, folded in two) on which all the stamps of the Greek “XII OLYMPIC GAMES MONTREAL 1976” issue are affixed, and cancelled with seven commemorative postmarks (ceremony of the flame and torch relay from ancient Olympia to Athens) on 13, 14 and 15 July 1976.
[The Olympic torch relay from Ancient Olympia was decided in 1934 and, two years later, the transport of the Olympic Flame to Berlin was realized through the central European countries. Since then, the lighting of the Flame in Olympia is always followed by a torch relay every four years to the new location the next games are organized.
The same ceremonial procedure is repeated since 1964 for the winter Olympics, but also for the Summer and Winter Youth Olympic Games (since 2010 and 2012 respectively).]
