Postmarked with ‘ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥΠΟΛΙΣ 8 ΜΑΡ. 1923 ΑΦΙΞΙΣ’ [Alexandroupolis Arrival, 8 March 1923] postmark, only one week after the introduction of the Gregorian Calendar in Greece.
Opened and examined locally; resealed after inspection with plain tape tied on reverse with ‘[θυρεός) ΓΡΑΦΕΙΟΝ ΛΟΓΟΚΡΙΣΙΑΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ’ double-ring cachet in violet.
Forwarded to Egypt via Athens and Piraeus, backstamped in with s.r. ‘ALEXANDRIA 20.III.23’ and ‘HELIOPOLIS 20 MR 23’ postal date stamps.
