Addressee is Miss Georgia Despotopoulou, known along with her two sisters Nefeli and Ioanna for having kept correspondence with Greek enlisted men in all fronts from 1912 (Balkan Wars) to 1923 (shortly after the expedition to Turkey).
[The large handwritten pencil number “73” on cover indicates addressee’s incoming serial number, placed on each new letter received and filed in arithmetical progression for reference as each letter was always answered later.]
Postmarked for despatch with “Τ.Τ. ΣΤΡ. ΤΑΧΥΔΡΟΜΕΙΑ / 908 / 17 ΙΟΥΛ. 21” military date-stamp [(Greek) Army Postal Sector 908, 17 July 1921] allotted to I Infantry Division.
Backstamped with mc “ΑΘΗΝΑΙ 27 ΑΥΓ.20 ΚΕΝΤΡΙΚΟΝ” [Athens Central PO, 27 August 1920 entering Greece, and s.r. “ΑΘΗΝΑΙ 27.ΑΥΓ.20. (ΑΦΙΞΙΣ)” [Athens Arrival, 27 August 1920] at final destination.
