Undated message passed by naval censor and stamped with boxed [31x49 mm] 2-line "ON ACTIVE SERVICE, PASSED BY CENSOR" h/s in violet on Lemnos Island Greece (senior naval officer at Mudros?).
Postmarked in England with arrival framed machine date mark RECEIVED FROM H.M. SHIP, NO CHARGE TO BE RAISED, LONDON JAN.13.16. According to Firebrace, a proportion of the mail on which naval and maritime censor cachets are found was datestamped in London.
