Italian postcard for prisoners of war (Italian/English/Serbian printed text) from a Greek officer housed at No. 55 camp at Busseto/Parma to Aghios Vassilios village on Crete island, Greece. Message written in Greek on 9 November 1942.
Passed by the Foreign Mail Censor Office (designated I) in Rome. Metal ‘UFFICIO CENSURA POSTA ESTERA I” stamp applied in black along with rubber boxed “VERIFICATO PER CENSURA” office hand stamp marking and single circle “196/I” examiner’s shown aside in violet.
Greek officers’ mail are seldom found in Italian POW camps.
