Envelope to Greece, bearing on front three 10000Din ‘Vrnjacka Banja Thermal Spa’ (9 November 1993) & seven 5Din ‘Griffon dogs, XIV century postage stamps (24 November 1992), overprinted 50Din (18 October 1993) and later revaluated to 50000Din by printing three additional zeros next to “50” (9 November 1993). Stamps cancelled with illegible Beograd machine cancel, most probably on 1 December 1993.
Interesting is sender’s information in the enclosed letter dated 29.November 1993: ‘Please notice that the correct postage on this letter is 375.000 but the total amount affixed is 380.000 because of the lack of 5.000 Dinar stamps. This rate was introduced two weeks ago, however on the 1st of December I think it will be increased for about 700%. However, letters dropped into the letterbox during the preceding weekend and the two state holiday days, 29. and 30.November, will be dispatched at the old rate.’
