Franked with Greek 1Dr. ‘Temple of Hephaestus’ (‘Thession’, Athens) + 2Dr. ‘Acropolis of Athens’ [1927 ‘Landscapes I’ issue] + 5Dr. ‘Hernes with Arcas, infant’ (1927 Lithographic issue) plus 2x2Dr. (airplane over Acropolis of Athens + 2x5Dr. (airplane over Icarian Archipelago, 1933 airpost ‘Government’ issue) adhesives. cancelled with ‘ΑΘΗΝΑΙ 9.VIII.31 ΑΠΟΣΤΟΛΗ ΑΕΡΟΠΟΡΙΚΩΣ’ [Athens Airmail Dispatch, 9.8.1934] date stamp.
Backstamped in Paris with 'PARIS R.P. AVION 11 VIII 1934' postal marking and a publicity text ‘GAGNEZ DU TEMPS REPONDEZ PAR AVION’ [Save time, answer by plane]; forwarded to New York by surface means.
