Total franking: 8 dr. required for letter to Germany; rate in effect from 30 May 1941 to 19 September 1941 [1/12 inflation period].
Backstamped with ATHINAI 8.IX.41 POSTE AERIENNE date stamp on departure from Greece.
Opened and examined in Vienna, where the international letter inspection military service “g” was authorized to examine correspondence mainly to and from the Balkan States: Pencil/stamp examiners’ numbers “1065”, “1419/26/2” (front), “1178”, “663” (reverse) endorsed, while a “Geprüft / Oberkommando der Wehrmacht” red rubber stamp was applied tying the “Geöffnet / Oberkommando der Wehrmacht g” printed re-sealing tape.
