[Poet, novelist, journalist and academician George Drosinis has been one of the leading modern Greek poets; born in Athens in 1859 and died in 1951 at the age of 92 years, in Kifissia north of Athens.
He lived the last thirteen years of his life (1938-1951) in the villa "Amaryllis", which became a literary salon, and where he passed the difficult years of the German/Italian occupation of Greece.]
