Entire letter written by a English Paymaster to a Wine Merchant, with ZANTE 25.APRILE.1841 scrool type pmk in bluish gray, with POSTA PAGATA of Zante, rated "3" inside, sent via London 11.MY.1841 red to Cadiz with to pay tax handstamp in red "11R.". In London the postmen realized the insufficient prepayment and applied two different boxed handstamps in red, "No ... DETAINED FOR POSTAGE" [with registration Nr 2583] and "RETURNED FOR POSTAGE" [with handwritten "3/2" corrected to "6"]. Also a large handwritten "3/2" appears at left.
