Walt DISNEY: GREECE: 1948 Season's Greetings Card depicting DONALD DUCK
as SANTA. The inscription in Greek ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΠΟΛΛΑ (roughly translates to
Many Years to You) and Donald Duck in a red robe seemingly carrying a
gift basket on his back. In Greece, up until recently, Santa brought
gifts not Christmas Eve but New Year's Eve. The card has a beautiful,
intact cordon in red and white. On the inside, on the filament paper,
with beautiful and careful writing is a message from a person living in
"fragrant" Zante (Zakynthos island, Ionian Islands) to a friend, wishing
her the realization of her wishes and a Happy New Year. The card is
datelined 31.12.48. It is in excellent condition, without stains, dents,
wrinkles, creases or anything that may detract from this item.
EXCELLENT for both card collectors and Disneyana. VF-XF. Please note:
The front and back are scanned at 150%, the open card with the writing
is at 100%.
