Picture postcard written in German, on board of the Austrian steamer THALIA, franked with a pair of 1λ lithographic +2λ lithographic + a pair of 3λ engraved definitives (Greek stamps), tied with ΚΕΡΚΥΡΑ (ΑΠΟΣΤΟΛΗ) 18.ΦΕΒ.14 (Corfu 18.02.14 old style = 03.03.14 new style calendar), sent to New York USA. The stamps were possibly sold to the sender and affixed on board (It was not reasonable that the person who carried the mail from the steamer to the Post Office of Corfu, had to affix more than one stamp on the many cards or letters).
The violet AUF HOHER SEE AN BORD S/S THALIA 1.MRZ.1914 (Tchilinghirian, type LJ, two days earlier than the Corfu postmark) was applied alongside the stamps. These datestamps are seldom seen because of their short currency. According the author, "A further date-stamp in Type "LJ" may have been issued in 1913, but has not been seen", R & F-VF -rounded corners
